Construction contract changes EVERY Contractor needs to address licensing issues.
All contractors, whether licensed or exempt, should review their contracts, forms and other documentation to verify that their forms are in compliance with the Georgia licensing act and the Board rules and regulation.  For example, under the new law, use of the term "general contractor" may be effectively restricted and your contract should reflect the correct information.  Specialty contractors will also need to be certain to include any required disclaimers as well as legal disclaimers which should be included in accordance with and consistent with best practices.

Project Abandonment

Under the licensing act (OCGA 43-41-16(a)(6)), abandoning a construction project may be grounds for Board action (including license revocation).  A project may be presumed abandoned after 90 days if the contractor has ceased work on or terminated performance on the project without just cause and without proper notification to the owner, including the reason for the termination, cessation, or abandonment.  Your contract and business operation procedures should clearly provide for proper notice of termination or cessation of work.
